Goodreads Summary:

The night that changed everything!

Waitress Darcy Penn is the smart, sensible type—flirting with the extremely cute guy in the bar just isn’t her usual style. As for ending up in his hotel room? Definitely not! Sneaking out while he’s in the bathroom to avoid the post-sex awkwardness? Much more like it….

If Darcy had stuck around, Jeff Norton could have told her about their “epic latex fail.” So he shouldn’t be quite so shocked when months later, Darcy turns up at his classy L.A. office and throws up in his wastepaper basket. She’s got a bad case of morning sickness, and she’s here to find out what he’s going to do about it!

There must be something magical about Harlequin Kiss that just manages to put a smile in my face every time I read one of their titles. No matter how you feel or what book disaster you read before with crappy love stories, Harlequin Kiss will make it all better. This is my go-to publisher when I read an insta love fiasco and need a high dose of fluffy-make-you-feel-good-curl-your-toes-and-swoon and they don’t disappoint.

This is the story of Darcy and Jeff and how one wild night turns into 9 months of an ops that shouldn’t have happened. Darcy is an independent woman sure of her future and working hard for it. But she’s never let go, never broken a rule she’s put for herself for survival, never really lived like the people she sees in Vegas when she works. Jeff is a business man that has it all, and women fall at his feet for a good time. But there’s something interesting and challenging about Darcy, and he wants to be the reason for her to smile secretly after showing everyone a scowl or frown.  These two embark in a night of fun and flirt that leads to a sweet release at an hotel that ends the next morning when Darcy runs out to avoid the awkward good-bye. No one expected the condom to break, and they don’t expect the other to commit to anything other than share the baby. Between weird family arrangements done and a passion brewing between Darcy and Jeff, it’s hard to miss that the unlikely couple is more perfect than what they think.

Unlike other stories of Harlequin I’ve read, what I loved the most here was that I could see great character development of Darcy and Jeff, plus the sweet construction of their hard-earned love. Darcy is a tough girl that has gone through many hardships while growing up, all the while Jeff has had it everything in a greatly formed family as it should be. They discuss how they want to raise their growing kid and how to do all that with the two unmarried. It was really funny to see all the things Jeff had in mind with barely a minute of knowing Darcy was pregnant and already thinking of college! Talk about thinking way, way ahead!

The romance here is rich, sweet, sexy, very mature content (don’t look at me that way… not my fault), funny, so swoony… Where can I find a Jeff? The main characters fought a lot to get their happily ever after and it was all worth it, just like the author always promises.

Speaking of which, I did not know this author had written Waking up Married too! :O It was a big shocker and made this read even more interesting since this book counts like a kind of sequel, You don’t need to read the previous book, but for those who have, it’ll be awesome because we get a few glimpses at Connor and Mega from the other book. It was really cool.

In general, it was a quick, funny, romantic read that made my hopeless romantic heart have hope once again after reading a book with horrible quantities of insta love. Here, even though I knew they were going to fall in love, they )Darcy and Jeff) first have an attraction and lust for the other, and slowly they develop the love. A big difference between recent Young Adult books (some). Definitely worth sinking your teeth into, specially on those Friday nights, like me, that I watch romantic comedies for the heck of it. Haha
