Review: UnBeautiful by Jessica Sorensen (UnBeautiful 1)

Jessica Sorensen is my go to Author always for damaged romance stories with a mix of a dilemma  and fast pace, she hasn’t disappointed me yet!

UnBeautiful is filled with secrets and spins that had me greedily fly through this book and right through book two! Emery is determined to become independent from her parents who think she’s crazy and force her to take pills. Even though living in her own apartment (with a hotty the floor below) her parents still have a control hand on her. Someone is threatening Emery leaving messages behind. Finding a friend in Ryler, things don’t always look how they seem – who is the man downstairs that can’t speak?

What I love about Ms. Sorensen’s writing is the building of her characters. They all have some type of damage – imperfection and it’s a journey going through with them on finding themselves. This book in particular has a mix of cult/mob into the story that kicks up the anticipation and the thrill. There is a bit of sizzle in the romance but it doesn’t take away from the main point. It has a bit of dark element – check out that cover – it was just enough to make it interesting to continue on with Emery. Recommended Read!!

Cliffhanger warning!

Sounds very good! I haven’t read anything by Jessica Sorenson yet, but I love the sound of how dark, yet intriguing this one is. I also love that apparently, the romance is not a big focus. Plus, I’m getting my own apartment for the first time soon and I’m super curious to read about Emery’s experience with that :p
